Job Title: Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapist
Job Summary:
As an ABA therapist, you will provide individualized therapy to children with autism and related disorders, using evidence-based ABA techniques. You will work closely with a BCBA to implement behavior modification plans and monitor progress of clients. You will also provide training to parents and caregivers on how to implement ABA strategies at home.
Responsibilities:
- Implement behavior modification plans designed by a BCBA to address specific behavior goals of clients.
- Provide one-on-one therapy to children with autism and related disorders.
- Use ABA techniques such as discrete trial teaching, naturalistic teaching, and functional communication training to teach new skills and promote positive behaviors.
- Monitor client progress and communicate with the BCBA about any changes or concerns.
- Provide parent training on how to implement ABA strategies at home and promote generalization of skills.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress, including data collection and documentation.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including speech therapists and occupational therapists.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with developments in the field of behavior analysis.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field.
- Experience working with children with autism and related disorders.
- Knowledge of behavior analysis techniques and principles, including discrete trial teaching, naturalistic teaching, and functional communication training.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with children and families.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and collect data on client progress.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to receive ongoing supervision and training from a BCBA.
- Basic knowledge of electronic health record systems and other software related to behavior analysis treatment.
