Job Title: Barista

 

Introduction: A Barista is responsible for serving hot and cold drinks to customers, preparing food items, ensuring that the café or coffee shop is clean and well-stocked with supplies, and maintaining a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Preparing and serving coffee, tea, and other beverages to customers

- Understanding different coffee brewing methods and techniques

- Taking customer orders and providing recommendations

- Preparing food items such as sandwiches, pastries, and cakes

- Keeping the café or coffee shop clean and tidy

- Ensuring that all equipment is clean and in good working order

- Operating the cash register and handling cash and card payments

- Maintaining a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for customers

- Responding to customer complaints or concerns in a polite and professional manner

- Following health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment

 

Requirements:

- Proven work experience as a Barista or similar role

- Knowledge of different coffee brewing methods and techniques

- Ability to handle cash and card transactions accurately

- Strong customer service skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent communication skills

- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in hospitality or a related field is a plus

 

Physical Demands:

- Ability to stand for long periods of time

- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, such as coffee beans or milk jugs

- Ability to work in a noisy environment
