Job Title: Butler
Introduction:
A Butler is a highly skilled and professional individual who manages the household and ensures that everything runs smoothly. They are responsible for overseeing the staff, managing household operations, maintaining the property, and attending to the needs of the employer and their guests. The Butler is expected to be discreet, flexible, and adaptable to changes in the employer's routine and schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain the household in an orderly and efficient manner
• Supervise and manage other domestic staff, such as housekeepers, gardeners, cooks, and drivers
• Plan and coordinate events and social gatherings, such as dinner parties and receptions
• Manage the household budget and make financial decisions on behalf of the employer
• Arrange travel itineraries and reservations for the employer and their guests
• Maintain inventory of household supplies, groceries, and other necessary items
• Perform a wide range of administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing the employer's calendar
• Ensure the security of the household and its contents, including valuable artwork, antiques, and other collectables
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the household
• Attend to the needs of the employer and their guests, including serving meals, drinks, and snacks
• Other duties as assigned by the employer
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Butler or in a related position
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage and motivate a team of domestic staff
• Knowledge of proper etiquette and protocol for formal events and social gatherings
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of discretion and confidentiality
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
• Experience working in a private residence or luxury hotel preferred
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders as necessary
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach
Working Conditions:
