Job Summary:

The Charge Nurse is responsible for providing leadership and coordination to the nursing staff in a healthcare setting. The individual in this role will supervise and manage nursing staff, as well as assess patient care needs, plan and implement patient care plans, and maintain medical records.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and direction to nursing staff and oversee patient care

• Supervise and manage the nursing staff, including hiring, scheduling, and evaluating performance

• Assess patient care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans

• Monitor patient progress and ensure that appropriate medical interventions are implemented

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician

• Maintain accurate and complete medical records, ensuring confidentiality and HIPAA compliance

• Serve as a liaison between the nursing staff and other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers

• Ensure that the nursing staff complies with all hospital policies and procedures

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure that patient care is delivered in accordance with established standards of practice

• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support as needed
