Title: Construction Expeditor

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Expeditor to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of materials, equipment, and supplies to construction sites. The Construction Expeditor will work closely with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to coordinate shipments and deliveries, track inventory levels, and maintain accurate records. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational and communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and have a good understanding of construction processes and materials.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

     Coordinate shipments and deliveries of materials, equipment, and supplies to construction sites

     Communicate with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials

     Track inventory levels and maintain accurate records of materials and supplies

     Monitor project schedules and adjust delivery schedules as needed

     Maintain relationships with vendors and negotiate prices and terms for materials and supplies

     Work closely with site supervisors to ensure materials are delivered to the correct location and in the correct quantity

     Prepare and submit purchase orders and other paperwork as needed

     Resolve issues related to delivery schedules, quality, and quantity of materials

     Keep up-to-date with industry trends and changes in materials and supply costs

     Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

 

     High school diploma or equivalent

     Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction or related field

     Strong organizational and time management skills

     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

     Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

     Good understanding of construction processes and materials

     Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and inventory management software

     Familiarity with shipping and logistics processes

     Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively

 

Physical Demands:

The Construction Expeditor may be required to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time and lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.

 

Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
