Title: Copy Editor

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Copy Editor to join our team. The Copy Editor will be responsible for reviewing and editing various types of content, including articles, reports, and marketing materials, to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency. This individual will work closely with writers and other team members to produce high-quality content that meets the needs of our target audience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Review and edit written content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency, ensuring adherence to company style guidelines and brand voice.

- Collaborate with writers and other team members to produce high-quality content that meets project objectives and target audience needs.

- Ensure that content is free from grammatical errors, typos, and other mistakes, and that it adheres to industry best practices.

- Use various editing tools and software to review and track changes to content.

- Fact-check and verify information to ensure that it is accurate and reliable.

- Monitor and maintain the content calendar to ensure that content is produced on schedule and meets deadlines.

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to copy editing and content creation.

 

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.

- 3+ years of experience in copy editing or related field.

- Strong knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and other language conventions.

- Experience with various editing tools and software, such as Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with writers and other team members.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with SEO and content marketing strategies.

- Familiarity with AP Style or Chicago Manual of Style.

- Experience working in a digital publishing environment.

- Experience with graphic design or desktop publishing software, such as Adobe Creative Suite.
