Title: Copy Editor

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Copy Editor to join our team. The Copy Editor will be responsible for reviewing and editing written content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency. The ideal candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Review and edit written content, including articles, blog posts, marketing materials, and other communications

- Ensure that all content adheres to established style guides and is free from errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling

- Verify facts and sources to ensure accuracy and credibility of information

- Collaborate with writers, designers, and other team members to ensure content is visually appealing and engaging

- Ensure that all content is optimized for search engines and meets SEO requirements

- Maintain and update style guides and other reference materials

- Proofread and fact-check content before publication

- Provide feedback and guidance to writers to improve writing quality

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in copy editing and proofreading

- Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, or related field

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in copy editing or proofreading

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

- Familiarity with style guides such as AP and Chicago Manual of Style

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

- Experience with content management systems and SEO best practices

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
