Job Overview:

The Credit Officer will be responsible for evaluating and approving credit applications and ensuring the organization's credit policies and procedures are followed. This position will analyze financial data and credit reports to assess creditworthiness, communicate with customers and other departments to resolve credit-related issues, and monitor and manage the organization's credit exposure. The Credit Officer will also work closely with the Credit Manager to develop and implement credit policies and procedures.

 

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and approve credit applications according to established policies and procedures

• Analyze financial data and credit reports to assess creditworthiness of applicants

• Monitor and manage the organization's credit exposure and identify potential risks

• Communicate with customers and other departments to resolve credit-related issues

• Prepare and analyze credit reports and provide recommendations to management

• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to credit and collections

• Work closely with the Credit Manager to develop and implement credit policies and procedures

• Stay up-to-date on changes in the credit market and recommend adjustments to credit policies and procedures as needed

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in credit analysis or credit management

• Strong knowledge of credit principles and practices, including credit scoring and risk assessment

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

• Experience with credit reporting agencies and credit management software

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
