Title: Daycare Teacher
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate daycare teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for children under our care. The daycare teacher will plan, implement, and assess age-appropriate activities to support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
Responsibilities:
● Create and implement lesson plans and activities that support children’s developmental milestones and individual needs.
● Create a positive and welcoming classroom environment that fosters children’s creativity, curiosity, and self-esteem.
● Ensure children’s safety and well-being at all times.
● Maintain open and ongoing communication with parents regarding their child’s progress and needs.
● Maintain accurate records of children’s attendance, progress, and behaviour.
● Collaborate with other daycare teachers and staff to ensure continuity of care and program consistency.
● Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
● Adhere to all state and federal regulations and standards for daycare facilities.
Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field.
● Minimum of two years of experience in a licensed daycare setting.
● Strong knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
● Ability to pass a criminal background check and provide references.
● Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Certification as a Child Development Associate (CDA).
● Experience working with children with special needs.
● Bilingual in English and Spanish.
