Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Development Director to lead our fundraising and development efforts. The Development Director will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive development strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and goals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful fundraising, excellent leadership and management skills, and the ability to build relationships with donors and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and development strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and goals
• Identify and cultivate relationships with donors, foundations, corporations, and other funding sources
• Develop and maintain relationships with board members, volunteers, and other stakeholders to ensure their engagement and support of fundraising efforts
• Create and manage annual development plans and budgets, including goals and timelines for specific campaigns and initiatives
• Oversee and manage all aspects of fundraising, including major gifts, grants, planned giving, special events, and corporate sponsorships
• Supervise and manage development staff, ensuring their ongoing professional development and success
• Collaborate with program staff and other departments to develop and implement fundraising strategies that support program goals and objectives
• Develop and implement systems for tracking and reporting on fundraising progress, including donor and gift data, revenue projections, and other key metrics
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in fundraising and development, and adapt strategies as needed to meet changing needs and opportunities
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in fundraising and development, including successful leadership and management of a development team
• Strong track record of successful fundraising, including major gifts, grants, planned giving, and special events
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and manage staff and volunteers
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with donors and stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and compelling manner
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with donor management software
• Knowledge of fundraising best practices and trends
