Job Title: Emergency Room Technician (ER Tech)

 

Job Summary:

An ER Technician is responsible for providing direct patient care and support to medical staff in a fast-paced emergency department setting. You will assist with patient assessments, take vital signs, perform diagnostic tests, and provide emotional support to patients and their families.

 

Responsibilities:

- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting under the supervision of medical staff.

- Assist with patient assessments, including taking vital signs, measuring height and weight, and obtaining medical histories.

- Perform diagnostic tests, such as electrocardiograms (EKGs), blood draws, and urinalysis.

- Provide basic wound care and assist with minor medical procedures.

- Assist with patient transfers and transport patients to other areas of the hospital as needed.

- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during times of crisis.

- Document patient care and observations accurately and in a timely manner.

- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including stocking supplies and equipment.

- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advances in emergency medical care and technology.

- Adhere to ethical and professional standards and maintain patient confidentiality.

 

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Completion of an emergency medical technician (EMT) or nursing assistant (CNA) training program.

- Current certification as an EMT or CNA.

- At least 1-2 years of experience working in a fast-paced emergency department setting.

- Basic understanding of emergency medical care and procedures.

- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Willingness to participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advances in emergency medical care and technology.

- Adherence to ethical and professional standards.
