Title: ESL (English as a Second Language) Teacher

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and passionate ESL teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing English language instruction to students for whom English is not their primary language. The ESL teacher will design and implement effective lessons that develop students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills and promote their cultural understanding and integration.

 

Responsibilities:

 

     Develop and implement effective lesson plans that meet the English language needs of students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

     Provide engaging and interactive instruction that supports students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

     Use a variety of teaching methods and technologies to accommodate students' learning styles and abilities.

     Assess student learning through formal and informal methods and use the results to guide instruction and differentiate learning.

     Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and positive behaviour.

     Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and parents to support student's academic and social development.

     Communicate regularly with parents regarding students' progress, behaviour, and needs.

     Participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current on educational trends and research.

     Adhere to school policies, procedures, and regulations.

 

Requirements:

 

     Bachelor's degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), linguistics, or related field.

     Valid teaching certification or license.

     Minimum of two years of experience teaching English language learners.

     Strong knowledge of English language acquisition theories and teaching strategies.

     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

     Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt to students' needs.

     Knowledge of educational technologies and their integration into teaching.

     Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, staff, and parents.

 

Preferred qualifications:

 

     Master's degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), linguistics, or related field.

     Experience teaching in a diverse or multicultural setting.

     Proficiency in a second language.
