Job Title: Fleet Manager

 

Job Summary:

As a Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of a company's fleet of vehicles. You will work closely with drivers, mechanics, and other team members to ensure safe and efficient operations, and develop and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve overall fleet performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and maintain the company's fleet of vehicles, including trucks, vans, and other vehicles.

- Develop and implement fleet policies and procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations.

- Monitor vehicle utilization and develop strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective vehicle maintenance and repair.

- Monitor driver performance, ensure compliance with company policies and regulations, and provide coaching and training as needed.

- Manage vehicle registration, licensing, and insurance.

- Develop and maintain a budget for fleet operations, and monitor expenses to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle maintenance, repairs, and other expenses.

- Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with safety regulations and identify maintenance and repair needs.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations governing the operation of commercial vehicles.

 

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management or a related role, with a proven track record of improving fleet efficiency and reducing costs.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with drivers, mechanics, and other team members.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address operational and financial issues.

- Knowledge of the relevant industry and market trends, as well as applicable laws and regulations governing commercial vehicle operations.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

- Experience with fleet management software and other tools is a plus.

- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
