Job Title: Food Runner

 

Introduction:

 

A food runner is a member of the restaurant or catering team who is responsible for delivering food from the kitchen to the table, ensuring that guests receive their food quickly and efficiently. This job requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

- Communicate with the kitchen staff to ensure that food is prepared and plated correctly.

- Deliver food to tables in a timely and efficient manner.

- Assist servers with any additional needs, such as refilling drinks or clearing tables.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the kitchen and dining room.

- Ensure that all orders are accurate and complete before leaving the kitchen.

- Handle any customer inquiries or complaints in a professional and courteous manner.

- Follow all health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation procedures.

 

Qualifications:

 

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Prior experience working in a restaurant or catering environment preferred.

- Strong communication and organizational skills.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

- Familiarity with basic food safety and sanitation practices.
