Job Overview:
The Forensic Accountant will be responsible for conducting forensic accounting investigations and analyses to identify potential fraud, embezzlement, and other financial crimes. This position will work closely with other members of the investigative team to collect and analyze financial data, prepare reports, and provide expert testimony in legal proceedings. The Forensic Accountant will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct forensic accounting investigations and analyses to identify potential fraud, embezzlement, and other financial crimes
• Collect and analyze financial data, including financial statements, tax returns, and bank records
• Prepare detailed reports documenting findings and recommendations for further action
• Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings
• Collaborate with other members of the investigative team, including law enforcement, attorneys, and other specialists
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Stay up-to-date on new developments and best practices in forensic accounting
• Assist with special projects and other accounting-related tasks as assigned
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• CPA or CFE certification preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in forensic accounting or a related field
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Experience with forensic accounting software, such as IDEA or ACL
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Willingness to travel as needed
