Job Summary:

 

We are seeking an experienced Grant Writer to research and write grant proposals to secure funding for our organization. The Grant Writer will work closely with senior leadership and program staff to identify funding opportunities, develop compelling proposals, and maintain relationships with funders. The ideal candidate has a passion for social justice and a track record of securing grants from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

 

Responsibilities:

 

- Research and identify funding opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies

- Develop and write grant proposals that are compelling, accurate, and tailored to the funder's priorities and requirements

- Collaborate with program staff to gather information, develop budgets, and write program descriptions

- Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure that all proposals are submitted on time

- Build and maintain relationships with funders and provide regular updates on the progress of funded projects

- Conduct prospect research to identify new funding opportunities and potential funders

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all grants, proposals, and communications with funders

- Monitor and report on grant outcomes and ensure that all reporting requirements are met

- Stay up-to-date on trends and best practices in grant writing and fundraising

 

Requirements:

 

- Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, nonprofit management, or a related field

- 3+ years of experience in grant writing or a related field

- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to write clear, concise, and compelling proposals

- Excellent research skills, with the ability to identify funding opportunities and gather information from a variety of sources

- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with funders and collaborate with program staff

- Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising and grantmaking practices

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
