Job Title: Hydrologist
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Hydrologist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting fieldwork, analyzing data, and preparing reports related to water resource projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct fieldwork to collect hydrological data, including water samples, using a variety of tools and techniques.
• Analyze hydrological data to identify patterns and trends.
• Develop computer models to simulate water resource systems and predict future water availability.
• Prepare reports and presentations on hydrological data for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
• Collaborate with other hydrologists, engineers, and scientists to develop project plans and strategies.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments and develop plans to mitigate any negative impacts.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices and maintain knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in hydrology, environmental science, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in hydrological fieldwork and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of hydrological principles, techniques, and practices.
• Experience in conducting environmental impact assessments.
• Proficiency in using specialized software and equipment for hydrological analysis and modelling.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel and work in remote locations.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to conduct fieldwork in various weather conditions and terrain.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment.
