Job Title: Inventory Specialist
Job Summary:
As an Inventory Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the inventory levels of our company's products or supplies, ensuring that we have enough stock to meet customer demand while minimizing inventory costs. You will work closely with the purchasing and sales teams to monitor inventory levels, track product movement, and identify areas for improvement in the inventory management process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory levels of products or supplies to ensure that we have sufficient stock to meet customer demand while minimizing inventory costs.
- Monitor inventory levels and track product movement to identify potential stock shortages or overstock situations.
- Work closely with the purchasing team to place orders for additional inventory as needed, and with the sales team to forecast future demand for products.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement, and recommend solutions to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts to ensure accurate stock levels and identify discrepancies or inaccuracies in inventory records.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in our company's inventory management system, and perform regular data entry and updates as needed.
- Coordinate with shipping and receiving teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products or supplies.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure that inventory levels are aligned with customer needs and preferences.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations governing inventory management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a college degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory management or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and recommend solutions to improve inventory management.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and tools, such as Excel, QuickBooks, or other inventory management systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of inventory management best practices, including inventory control, forecasting, and procurement.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
