Job Title: Janitor

 

Introduction:

 

Janitors are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of a building or facility. They perform a wide range of cleaning tasks and may be responsible for minor repairs and maintenance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors and carpets

- Clean and disinfect restrooms and kitchen areas

- Empty trash and recycling containers

- Dust surfaces and wipe down windows and mirrors

- Clean and polish floors, walls, and furniture

- Report any damage or necessary repairs to maintenance or management

- Stock and maintain janitorial supplies and equipment

 

Requirements:

 

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred

- Proven experience as a janitor or in a similar role

- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods

- Ability to lift and move heavy objects

- Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and safety

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

 

Working Conditions:

 

Janitors typically work in indoor environments and may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, dust, and other allergens. They may work alone or as part of a team and may be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays. The physical demands of the job can be strenuous, including standing for long periods, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy objects.
