Job Title: Legal Assistant

 

Job Type: Full-time/Part-time

 

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated Legal Assistant to join our team. The Legal Assistant will provide administrative support to lawyers and legal professionals in the firm. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities:

- Draft and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and affidavits

- Organize and maintain legal files and documents

- Conduct legal research and prepare summaries of findings

- Schedule appointments and manage attorney calendars

- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel

- Assist in trial preparation and attend court proceedings as necessary

- Perform other administrative duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or related field preferred

- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Legal Assistant or in a related field

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software such as LexisNexis and Westlaw

- Strong organizational and time-management skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures

- Attention to detail and accuracy

 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to type or operate a computer, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

 

Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

 

Salary:

The salary range for this position is $XX,XXX - $XX,XXX per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
