Job Description:

 

We are seeking a highly skilled medical coder to join our team. The medical coder will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.

 

Responsibilities:

 

- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures

- Assign appropriate codes to medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems

- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations

- Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures as needed

- Review and audit medical records for accuracy and completeness

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations

 

Requirements:

 

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Successful completion of an accredited medical coding program

- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)

- Proficient in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and healthcare reimbursement systems

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

- Experience working in a healthcare setting

- Experience with electronic health records (EHRs)

- Knowledge of medical billing and reimbursement processes
