Job Title: Mental Health Therapist
Job Summary:
As a Mental Health Therapist, you will be responsible for providing mental health counseling and therapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions and challenges. Your duties will include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help clients achieve their goals and improve their overall mental health and wellbeing.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct mental health assessments to identify client needs, concerns, and goals.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals, using evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Provide mental health counseling and therapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions and challenges.
- Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure effective and timely interventions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, such as psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and social workers, to provide comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and documentation of client care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with new research, developments, and best practices in mental health counseling and therapy.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards of practice, including maintaining confidentiality and obtaining informed consent.
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed to clients experiencing acute mental health crises.
- Advocate for clients and promote their overall mental health and wellbeing.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Licensure as a mental health therapist or eligibility for licensure.
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions and treatment approaches for a wide range of mental health conditions and challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and work effectively with other healthcare providers.
- Ability to provide effective crisis intervention services to clients experiencing acute mental health crises.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and documentation.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and adjust to changes in patient needs and staffing requirements.
- Experience working as a mental health therapist, preferably in a healthcare setting.
