Job Title: Meter Reader

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Meter Reader to join our team. The Meter Reader will be responsible for visiting residential and commercial properties to read utility meters and record usage data. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, have excellent time-management skills, and be able to work in all weather conditions.

 

Responsibilities:

 

●     Visit residential and commercial properties to read utility meters

●     Record usage data accurately and in a timely manner using handheld devices or paper-based methods

●     Report any abnormalities or irregularities in meter readings

●     Identify and report damaged or malfunctioning meters to supervisors

●     Respond to customer inquiries and complaints related to meter readings

●     Maintain accurate records of meter readings and associated data

●     Update and maintain meter routes and schedules to ensure timely and efficient readings

●     Work with supervisors to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to meter readings or other related tasks

●     Comply with safety guidelines and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment and following safe driving practices

 

Requirements:

 

●     High school diploma or equivalent (required)

●     Previous experience in meter reading or related field (preferred)

●     Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

●     Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and walking long distances

●     Strong communication and customer service skills

●     Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

●     Familiarity with handheld devices and computer software used for meter reading

●     Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
