Job Title: Nursing Assistant
Job Summary:
As a nursing assistant, you will provide basic patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. You will help with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding patients, and you will also take vital signs and document patient information. You will be responsible for ensuring patient comfort and safety while assisting with patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate.
- Observe patients for changes in condition and report any concerns to the nurse in charge.
- Help patients with mobility and positioning, including transferring them from beds to chairs or wheelchairs.
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist with restocking and ordering supplies.
- Assist with patient transportation within the facility.
- Communicate with patients and families in a respectful and compassionate manner.
- Complete documentation of patient care activities in a timely and accurate manner.
- Adhere to infection control and safety procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant program and certification by the state board of nursing.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and human anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical ability to lift and move patients and equipment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings.
