Title: Paraeducator


Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraeducator to provide support and assistance to students in the classroom. The Paraeducator will work under the guidance of a classroom teacher to provide individualized attention to students, help with academic and behavioral needs, and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, patience, and experience working with diverse student populations.




     Work with individual students or small groups of students to provide academic and behavioral support and assistance.

     Collaborate with classroom teachers and other school staff to develop and implement educational plans and strategies for students with special needs or learning challenges.

     Help students with homework and class assignments, and provide feedback and guidance as needed.

     Monitor student behavior and intervene when necessary to promote a safe and inclusive classroom environment.

     Assist with classroom management, including maintaining order and discipline, monitoring student progress, and providing feedback to the teacher.

     Support students with physical or developmental disabilities, including assisting with mobility, personal care, and medical needs.

     Participate in training and professional development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge related to paraeducation and special education.

     Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, needs, and concerns.

     Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards related to student privacy and confidentiality.




     High school diploma or equivalent required.

     Minimum of one year of experience working with students in a school or education setting.

     Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

     Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff.

     Patience and compassion when working with diverse student populations.

     Basic understanding of educational and behavioural strategies for students with special needs or learning challenges.

     Willingness and ability to undergo background checks and training related to paraeducation and special education.


Preferred qualifications:


     Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or related field.

     Previous experience working with students with disabilities or special needs.

     Experience with assistive technology and equipment.

     Bilingual or multilingual skills.
