Title: Paraprofessional

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Paraprofessional to provide support and assistance to teachers and students in the classroom. The Paraprofessional will work under the guidance of a classroom teacher to help with instructional and administrative tasks, provide individualized attention to students, and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, flexibility, and experience working with diverse student populations.

 

Responsibilities:

 

     Assist the classroom teacher with instructional and administrative tasks, such as preparing materials, grading assignments, and maintaining records.

     Work with individual students or small groups of students to provide academic support and assistance, under the guidance of the teacher.

     Monitor student behavior and intervene when necessary to promote a safe and inclusive classroom environment.

     Assist with classroom management, including maintaining order and discipline, monitoring student progress, and providing feedback to the teacher.

     Support students with physical or developmental disabilities, including assisting with mobility, personal care, and medical needs.

     Participate in training and professional development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge related to education and special education.

     Communicate regularly with teachers and other school staff regarding student progress, needs, and concerns.

     Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards related to student privacy and confidentiality.

 

Requirements:

 

     High school diploma or equivalent required.

     Minimum of one year of experience working in an educational setting, such as a school or classroom.

     Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

     Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff.

     Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing classroom needs and priorities.

     Basic understanding of educational and behavioral strategies for students with special needs or learning challenges.

     Willingness and ability to undergo background checks and training related to education and special education.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

     Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or related field.

     Previous experience working with students with disabilities or special needs.

     Bilingual or multilingual skills.
