Job Title: Patient Access Representative

 

Job Summary:

As a Patient Access Representative, you will be responsible for greeting patients, verifying insurance coverage, and scheduling appointments. You will also be responsible for collecting and processing patient information, including medical history, demographic information, and insurance information. You will work closely with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to ensure that patients receive appropriate and timely medical care.

 

Responsibilities:

- Greet patients as they arrive and assist with the registration process.

- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, including obtaining prior authorizations when necessary.

- Collect and process patient information, including medical history, demographic information, and insurance information.

- Schedule appointments and coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure that patients receive timely medical care.

- Answer patient questions and provide information about healthcare services and policies.

- Process patient payments, including copays and deductibles, and assist with billing inquiries.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.

- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including nurses, physicians, and administrative staff, to ensure seamless continuity of care.

- Adhere to all HIPAA and other regulatory requirements related to patient privacy and confidentiality.

 

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

- Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in patient access or a related field.

- Familiarity with electronic medical records and scheduling systems.

- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and patient satisfaction.
