Job Summary:
We are looking for a Patient Coordinator to join our healthcare team. As a Patient Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating patient care by performing administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, maintaining medical records, and communicating with patients and healthcare providers. You will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care by working with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the patient registration process
- Verify insurance coverage and assist patients with insurance-related questions
- Maintain patient records and ensure that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date
- Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and other members of the healthcare team
- Manage patient referrals and coordinate care with other healthcare providers
- Respond to patient inquiries and resolve patient issues in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate and facilitate patient education and support groups
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans for patients
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a patient coordination or administrative role
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing codes
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and patient advocacy
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
