Title: Payroll Director

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Payroll Director to oversee and manage our payroll operations. The Payroll Director will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and effective communication with employees and other stakeholders. This individual should be highly organized, and analytical, and have excellent leadership and communication skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the entire payroll process, including data entry, processing, and distribution of paychecks and direct deposits.

- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing for all employees.

- Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

- Manage payroll staff and ensure adequate training, coaching, and development.

- Prepare and analyze payroll reports and metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

- Work collaboratively with other departments, such as HR, Accounting, and IT, to ensure effective payroll operations.

- Stay up-to-date with payroll regulations and trends and make recommendations for process improvements.

- Other payroll-related tasks as assigned.

 

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

- 7+ years of experience in payroll operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

- Thorough knowledge of payroll regulations, laws, and best practices.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.

- Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees and other stakeholders.

- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with experience using Excel for data analysis.

- Familiarity with payroll software and other HR technology.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.

- Experience managing payroll operations in a multi-state environment.

- Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance.
