Job Title: Physiatrist
Job Summary:
As a Physiatrist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with physical disabilities and injuries, using a multidisciplinary approach. Your duties will include conducting medical assessments, developing treatment plans, and coordinating care with other healthcare providers. You will also be responsible for providing patient and family education, and advocating for the needs and rights of individuals with physical disabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and treat patients with physical disabilities and injuries, using a multidisciplinary approach.
- Conduct medical assessments to determine the nature and extent of the patient's disability or injury.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, using a variety of therapies and modalities, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and medication.
- Coordinate care with other healthcare providers, such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to provide comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Provide patient and family education, including information about the nature of the disability or injury, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms and improving function.
- Advocate for the needs and rights of individuals with physical disabilities, and work to improve access to healthcare and community resources.
- Participate in ongoing research and education to advance the understanding and treatment of physical disabilities and injuries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation of patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives to ensure the highest quality of care.
Requirements:
- Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine.
- Board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or eligibility to become board certified.
- Knowledge of the medical and rehabilitation management of physical disabilities and injuries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.
- Ability to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans using a multidisciplinary approach.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and adjust to changes in patient needs and staffing requirements.
- Experience working as a Physiatrist, preferably in a hospital or rehabilitation center.
