Job Summary:

 

We are looking for a detail-oriented Prep Cook to assist in the preparation of delicious dishes in our kitchen. The Prep Cook will be responsible for measuring ingredients, washing and chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and performing other culinary tasks. To be successful as a Prep Cook, you should be able to follow instructions and have a good understanding of cooking methods and techniques.

 

Responsibilities:

 

- Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items

- Collaborate with the Chef to prepare meals during service times

- Wash and chop vegetables, fruits, and herbs for salads, soups, and other dishes

- Prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees

- Arrange and garnish dishes

- Store ingredients and food items according to food safety standards

- Operate kitchen equipment, such as grills, fryers, and ovens

- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc.

- Assist with menu planning and development as needed

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef or Kitchen Manager

 

Requirements:

 

- Proven experience as a Prep Cook, Line Cook, or relevant role

- Knowledge of cooking methods and techniques

- Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment

- Ability to work well in a team

- Good communication skills

- Must be able to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time

- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Certification from a culinary school is a plus
