Job Title: Restaurant Server

 

Introduction:

A restaurant server is responsible for taking orders and serving food and beverages to customers in a restaurant setting. This job requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Greet customers as they arrive at the restaurant and show them to their table

- Present menus and answer questions about menu items and specials

- Take food and beverage orders from customers and input them into the restaurant's computer system

- Deliver food and beverages to customers in a timely and efficient manner

- Ensure customers have everything they need throughout their meal, including refilling drinks, providing extra napkins, and answering questions

- Process payment for customers and handle cash and credit card transactions

- Set up tables and ensure they are clean and ready for the next customer

- Clear tables and clean up after customers have finished their meals

- Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure orders are accurate and delivered promptly

- Collaborate with other servers to ensure customers receive excellent service

 

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds

- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

 

Salary:

The salary for a restaurant server may vary depending on the restaurant and location but typically ranges from $8-$15 per hour, plus tips.
