Job Overview: Our company is seeking a skilled and experienced retail buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in buying and negotiating with vendors, managing inventory, analyzing market trends and making data-driven decisions to ensure maximum profitability for our retail store. The retail buyer will be responsible for creating and executing buying plans, maintaining relationships with vendors, tracking product performance, and identifying opportunities for growth. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work well under pressure.

 

Responsibilities:

●     Develop and execute buying strategies that meet sales and profit goals

●     Analyze and interpret sales data to make buying decisions that drive profitability

●     Build relationships with vendors and negotiate favorable terms and pricing

●     Manage inventory levels and work with supply chain partners to ensure timely delivery of products

●     Monitor market trends and competitive activity to identify opportunities for growth

●     Collaborate with store managers to plan and execute promotional campaigns

●     Attend trade shows and industry events to stay current with market trends and identify new products and vendors

●     Review and analyze performance of products to determine if they meet sales and profitability goals

●     Develop and maintain accurate forecasts for sales, inventory and markdowns

●     Continually evaluate the effectiveness of current processes and implement changes to improve efficiency and profitability

 

Requirements:

●     Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field

●     Minimum of 3 years of experience in retail buying or related field

●     Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

●     Excellent negotiation and communication skills

●     Knowledge of retail math, inventory management and forecasting techniques

●     Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines

●     Strong attention to detail and highly organized

●     Proficient in Microsoft Office and retail management software
