Job Purpose:

The Retail Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a retail store, including managing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, achieving sales targets, and maintaining inventory levels. They are also responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment for both customers and staff, while also ensuring that all employees adhere to store policies and procedures.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

     Oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail store, including scheduling, inventory management, and customer service.

     Train and manage staff, including performance reviews and ensuring that they are adhering to store policies and procedures.

     Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and grow the business.

     Maintain a safe and clean environment for both customers and staff, including ensuring that all equipment and facilities are well-maintained.

     Ensure customer satisfaction through providing exceptional customer service, handling complaints and inquiries, and addressing any issues that may arise.

     Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.

     Monitor inventory levels and make necessary adjustments to ensure that all products are adequately stocked.

     Analyze sales data and provide reports to senior management on a regular basis.

     Build and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers.

     Participate in marketing and promotional activities to increase sales and brand awareness.

     Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded and reported.

     Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

     Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field.

     At least 3 years of retail management experience.

     Strong leadership and people management skills.

     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

     Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

     Knowledge of retail operations and inventory management.

     Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

     Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.

 

Physical Demands:

This job operates in a retail store environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, lift, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
