Job Summary:


We are seeking a skilled and experienced Safety Officer to join our team. The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s operations comply with health and safety regulations and legislation. This individual will develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures, conduct regular safety inspections, and investigate accidents and incidents to ensure that corrective action is taken. The Safety Officer will also provide safety training to employees and management as necessary.


Job Responsibilities:


• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and legislation.


• Conduct regular safety inspections of facilities and equipment to identify hazards and potential risks.


• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine the root cause and take corrective action to prevent recurrence.


• Conduct safety training for employees and management as necessary.


• Participate in safety committees and other safety-related meetings.


• Monitor compliance with safety policies and procedures and take corrective action as necessary.


• Develop and maintain safety records and reports.


• Recommend improvements to safety policies and procedures based on analysis of data.


• Work closely with management to ensure that safety is a priority throughout the organization.




• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or related field.


• 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.


• Knowledge of local and national safety regulations and legislation.


• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.


• Professional certification in Occupational Health and Safety is an added advantage.


Physical Requirements:


• Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time.


• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.


• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.


• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.


• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required.
