Position: Security Officer

 

Job Overview:

 

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure and safe environment for staff, visitors, and customers. You will work in a variety of settings, such as public spaces, retail establishments, offices, and other types of facilities. You will monitor and patrol the premises, enforce rules and regulations, investigate suspicious behavior or incidents, and respond to emergencies.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain security of premises

• Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or damage

• Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates

• Investigate and report any incidents or violations

• Prepare and submit daily reports of incidents or irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences

• Respond to emergency situations and alarms promptly

• Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises if necessary

• Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner

• Respond to requests for assistance and security concerns

 

Requirements:

 

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Security or law enforcement experience preferred

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively

• Ability to operate security equipment such as surveillance cameras and alarms

• Knowledge of basic security protocols and procedures

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
