Job title: Shift Manager




Shift managers oversee the daily operations of a business during a specific work shift, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and that employees are completing their assigned duties. They are responsible for managing staff, handling customer complaints, and ensuring that the business meets its financial goals. The shift manager reports to the general manager and works with other shift managers to ensure that the business is running smoothly 24/7.


Key responsibilities:


- Manage the staff during the assigned shift, including assigning tasks, training new employees, and ensuring that all employees adhere to company policies and procedures

- Oversee the preparation and serving of food, ensuring that it is of high quality and meets the standards of the company

- Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and ensuring that they are stocked in the proper amounts

- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues quickly and effectively

- Ensure that the business meets its financial goals by managing labor costs, food costs, and other expenses

- Maintain a clean and safe working environment for all employees and customers

- Work with other shift managers to ensure that the business is running smoothly 24/7

- Communicate with the general manager and other members of the management team to ensure that the business is meeting its goals and objectives

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and make recommendations for improvements to the business




- High school diploma or equivalent

- At least 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role in the restaurant or retail industry

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

- Basic math skills and ability to manage inventory and expenses

- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices


Physical requirements:


- Ability to stand for long periods of time

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

- Ability to work in a hot and noisy environment
