Job Overview:

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate and complete financial records for the company. This position will assist with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities. The Staff Accountant will also prepare financial statements, analyze financial data, and assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.

 

Responsibilities:

• Assist with general ledger accounting, including preparing and posting journal entries

• Perform account reconciliations and investigate and resolve any discrepancies

• Assist with month-end closing activities, including preparing and analyzing financial statements

• Prepare and analyze financial data, including budgets and forecasts

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and complete financial records

• Maintain fixed asset records and prepare depreciation schedules

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, as needed

• Prepare and file tax returns, including sales tax and property tax

• Participate in audits and provide documentation and support as needed

• Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting standards and regulations

• Perform other accounting duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting or a related field

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Sage, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel

• Knowledge of accounting principles and standards, including GAAP

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

• CPA or CPA candidate preferred, but not required
